Sana
Hello! My name is Sana, and I am a current graduate student at the University of Toronto doing my master’s in Biomedical communications.
This program specializes in combining art and science to create medical illustrations, 3D animations, data visualizations, and comprehensible infographics for science communication and patient education. I’ve always been artistically inclined throughout my childhood and teenage years but kind of gave that up to focus on my undergraduate education where I specialized in Neuroscience.
However, I discovered this program from a news article and realized a career in visual science communication is an incredible way to combine the two areas that I am most passionate about. In our current world of rapid research and advancements, medical illustrators serve as visual translators for otherwise complex scientific information. I knew that this is the career path I wanted to pursue.
