Taya Elizabeth
My name is Taya Elizabeth, I’m 19 and a traditional and digital illustrator living and studying in the UK.
My art has always been an integral part of my life and has grown alongside me, both thematically and technically. In the past year, my art has evolved to reflect my personal journey with feminity.
Femininity is such a nuanced subject, and exploring its depth in relation to topics such as violence and sexuality; both of which come with their own set of stereotypes that are still rarely broken – women are portrayed as cunning and sensual ‘Femme Fatales’ or carrying a childlike innocence – neither of which speak to me or align with the majority of the world.
Exploring this through my art has been my own “coming of age” experience and helped me discover other parts of myself and the people around me. “”
