Harerta Teklu
My name is Harerta Teklu. I’m a self-taught digital artist based in Ethiopia. Art began as a hobby for me—just scribbles and sketches as a child.
Even though I never went to an art school, I kept doing it simply for the fun of it. It used traditional mediums. Pencil on paper mostly. Later I was fortunate enough to try digital art, and the number of possibilities it had was enticing. Thus began my journey.
I’m fascinated by portraiture, even before getting into digital painting. Characters evoke emotions or tell a story, enhanced through colors and brush strokes; I consider these the main reoccurring themes in my works.
