Adrian Gazcon
My name is Adrian Gazcon; I am a 22-year-old Mexican-American artist, born in California but raised in Indiana.
My work is mostly acrylic and oil pastel-based. I grew up having a passion for drawing; I learned to draw as a child by drawing my favorite cartoons or self-portraits. It wasn’t until I discovered cubism and neo-expressionism that inspired my art style to take an experimental turn.
My abstract linework style is inspired by freestyle drawings, not expecting any sort of direction, just letting the subconscious flow through the canvas until it becomes cohesive. My subject matters are inspired by my childhood; growing up in a Mexican household and visiting Mexico to see family inspires themes from Aztec art to Frida Kahlo’s artwork.
