Samedina
My name is Samedina I am an Albanian artist based in London.
2017 I was on holiday back home in Albania where I randomly came across a local Shkodran artist and we started talking about art his journey and what that meant to him. This inspired me, so the next day I went to the store and picked up my first ever oil paints. I started experimenting a little here and there since then, but only the past year have I started taking it seriously to the point that I continuously find myself painting and always trying out new styles. Art has become my escape from reality; it brings me peace, my form of meditation.
My style is always evolving as I evolve as a person, never limiting myself to one style. I just paint what I like, and honestly, I don’t want to confine myself to one style as I’m still experimenting and only at the start of my art journey. I recently started a series dedicated to my heritage, which depicts women in the traditional clothing of their region in my homeland of Albania. I’m excited to expand on this in the near future as it is a series that has a little of my DNA attached to it.
One thing I learned throughout my journey is to be patient with myself, my art, and the process of mastering this skill. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me in the future.
